What is Roll Forming?Roll Forming was first used as early as 600 BC, believe it or not! It was used across South Asia and the Middle East. The most basic design of what we refer to as a rolling mill was used there. Throughout many years (and early designs by Leonardo da Vinci) the rolling mill has become what it is today. So, what is roll forming? It is a continuous process which converts sheet metal into an engineered shape using consecutive sets of mated rolls, each making only incremental changes in the form. These incremental changes are what makes the complex profile in the metal.
